Each performance of Porgy and Bess is approximately two hours and fifty-five minutes in length, including one twenty minute intermission.

The company consists of approximately 9 crew, 1 conductor, and 30 cast members; about 40 people. Orchestra requirements and sizes vary according to contract and orchestra pit size.

When possible, our technical director will make an advance trip to each venue to meet with the theater’s key technical staff. During this visit he will finalize all the requirements outlined in our technical rider.

Domestic Hard Set
The Domestic Hard Set consists of a combination of large and small set pieces and cloth drops. This rider is used exclusively in the United States.

Domestic Touring Set
The Domestic Touring Set consists of small set pieces and cloth drops. This rider is used exclusively in the United States. The soft set is used as an alternative to the hard set in smaller venues as well as venues with technical or physical limitations.

International Hard Set
The International Hard Set consists of a combination of large and small set pieces and cloth drops. This rider is typically used for long term international engagements where the company is in a given theater for a period of two or more weeks.

International Touring Set
The International Touring Set consists of small set pieces and cloth drops. This rider is typically used for single and short term engagements in a given theater.

In venues where there is no possibility to do a fully staged production the company can perform either a formal concert or a semi-staged costumed concert.
